Welcome to the TopTelangana Business Listing Guidelines.
TopTelangana is a Telangana local business directory and local business search engine designed to help people discover local businesses, shops, services, professionals, institutions and organisations across Telangana.
These guidelines explain how businesses can create, manage and maintain listings on TopTelangana.in.
Our goal is to maintain a useful, accurate, trustworthy and user-friendly local business directory for businesses and customers across Telangana.
1. Who Can Submit a Business Listing?
Business listings may be submitted by:
- Business owners
- Proprietors
- Partners
- Directors
- Authorised employees
- Marketing representatives
- Agencies authorised by a business
- Other persons authorised to represent the business
If you submit a listing on behalf of another business, you should have appropriate permission to do so.
2. Free Business Listing
TopTelangana may allow eligible businesses to create a free business listing.
A free listing may include basic information such as:
- Business name
- Category
- Address
- City/town
- District
- Phone number
- Business description
- Website
- Business hours
- Services
- Photos
Features available with free listings may change as TopTelangana develops its services.
3. What Information Should You Provide?
Businesses should provide accurate and useful information.
Recommended information includes:
Business Details
- Correct business name
- Appropriate category
- Business description
- Products/services
Contact Details
- Phone number
- WhatsApp number, where applicable
- Website
Location
- Full address
- City/town
- District
- PIN code
- Map/location information where applicable
Business Hours
- Opening time
- Closing time
- Weekly holidays
- Special hours where relevant
Visual Information
- Business logo
- Exterior photograph
- Interior photograph
- Product/service photographs
Good-quality information helps users understand your business before contacting or visiting you.
4. Business Name Policy
Use the actual business name.
Recommended:
Sri Lakshmi Family Restaurant
Avoid:
BEST RESTAURANT IN TELANGANA ★★★★★ CHEAPEST BEST NO.1
Do not unnecessarily add keywords, promotional slogans, phone numbers, URLs or excessive marketing text to the business-name field.
This helps maintain a clean and useful directory.
5. Business Category
Choose the category that most accurately represents the primary nature of your business.
For example:
Business: ABC Dental Clinic
Primary Category: Dental Clinic
Avoid selecting unrelated categories solely to obtain additional visibility.
Where appropriate, businesses may be able to select relevant subcategories or services.
6. Business Description
Business descriptions should clearly explain:
- What the business does
- Products or services offered
- Location served
- Important specialties
- Relevant customer information
Descriptions should be useful to visitors rather than being written solely for search engines.
Example:
ABC Electrical Services provides residential and commercial electrical installation, repair and maintenance services in Suryapet and surrounding areas.
Avoid keyword stuffing, excessive capitalisation and repetitive promotional claims.
7. Contact Information
Provide contact information that belongs to the business or that you are authorised to publish.
Do not publish another person’s private telephone number, email address or personal information without appropriate permission.
Businesses are responsible for maintaining their contact information.
8. Address and Location
Businesses should provide their actual operating location where applicable.
Do not intentionally submit:
- Fake addresses
- Misleading locations
- Unrelated addresses
- Competitor locations
- Locations designed solely to manipulate search visibility
Businesses serving customers at multiple locations should use appropriate location information where TopTelangana supports it.
9. Photos and Logos
Images should represent the business or its products/services accurately.
You should have the right or permission to use photographs, logos and other visual materials submitted to TopTelangana.
Do not upload:
- Copyrighted images without permission
- Misleading images
- Adult or explicit content
- Illegal content
- Images containing unnecessary personal information
- Images intended to deceive users
10. Duplicate Listings
Generally, one business should have one primary listing for a particular location.
Do not create multiple duplicate listings solely to increase visibility.
Duplicate listings may be:
- Merged
- Restricted
- Removed
- Redirected
- Reviewed by the TopTelangana team
Legitimate businesses with multiple physical locations may qualify for separate listings where appropriate.
11. Business Ownership and Claims
If a business listing already exists, an owner or authorised representative may request to claim it where the feature is available.
The claimant may be asked to provide reasonable verification.
You must not:
- Claim a competitor’s business
- Pretend to be the owner
- Submit false verification information
- Take control of another person’s listing without authority
12. Business Status
Businesses should keep their listing updated.
If a business:
- Permanently closes
- Moves
- Changes its name
- Changes its category
- Changes its contact information
the owner or representative should request an update.
This helps maintain accurate local search information.
13. Reviews and Ratings
Where TopTelangana provides review or rating functionality, reviews should represent genuine experiences.
Do not:
- Write fake reviews
- Buy reviews
- Sell reviews
- Post reviews on behalf of customers without disclosure
- Review your own business deceptively
- Post fake competitor reviews
- Threaten users to obtain positive reviews
- Use automated systems to manipulate ratings
TopTelangana may investigate suspicious review activity.
14. Prohibited Content
Listings must not contain unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or abusive content.
Prohibited content may include:
- Fraudulent business information
- Scam-related content
- Malware
- Phishing links
- Spam
- Hate or threatening content
- Explicit sexual content
- Content exploiting minors
- Content promoting illegal activities
- Stolen copyrighted material
- Impersonation
- Misleading claims
- Fake credentials
- Fake reviews
- Malicious code
Additional restrictions may apply to regulated products and services.
15. Misleading Claims
Businesses should avoid unsupported claims such as:
- “Guaranteed No.1”
- “100% guaranteed results”
- “Government approved” when not officially supported
- “Best in Telangana” without appropriate substantiation
- “Guaranteed cheapest”
- “Official government partner” without authorisation
Businesses are responsible for claims made in their listings.
16. Regulated Businesses and Services
Certain businesses may be subject to additional laws, licences, professional requirements or advertising restrictions.
Examples may include:
- Healthcare
- Financial services
- Insurance
- Legal services
- Education
- Pharmaceuticals
- Alcohol-related businesses
- Other regulated activities
Listing a regulated business on TopTelangana does not constitute certification, licensing or endorsement by TopTelangana.
Businesses remain responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations.
17. Business Information Changes
Business owners should request updates when information changes.
Examples include:
Old: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
New: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Old phone: XXXXXXXX
New phone: XXXXXXXX
Keeping information updated improves the usefulness of the directory.
18. Paid and Featured Listings
TopTelangana may provide optional paid promotional services.
These may include:
- Featured listings
- Premium profiles
- Sponsored visibility
- Enhanced listings
- Promotional campaigns
- Advertising
Paid placement does not permit a business to submit false or misleading information.
Paid businesses must follow the same basic content and listing standards.
19. Search Visibility
TopTelangana may use various factors when displaying search results.
These may include:
- Search relevance
- Location
- Category
- Listing completeness
- Business information
- User interaction
- Platform features
- Promotional placement
No business is guaranteed a specific position.
Businesses should not attempt to manipulate the directory through keyword stuffing, duplicate listings, fake reviews or other artificial methods.
20. Editing and Moderation
TopTelangana may review submitted content.
Where appropriate, we may:
- Correct formatting
- Fix obvious errors
- Request additional information
- Remove duplicate listings
- Restrict inappropriate content
- Reject submissions
- Remove listings
- Suspend accounts
These actions may be taken to protect the quality and integrity of the directory.
21. Reporting a Problem
Users and businesses can report:
- Incorrect information
- Duplicate listings
- Fake businesses
- Misleading claims
- Copyright concerns
- Fake reviews
- Inappropriate content
- Unauthorised listings
- Closed businesses

22. Business Owner Correction Requests
Business owners can contact TopTelangana to request corrections to their listing.
Useful information includes:
- Business name
- Listing URL
- Requested change
- Correct information
- Contact information
- Supporting evidence where appropriate
We may verify the request before making changes.
23. Intellectual Property
Businesses must only upload content they own or have permission to use.
This includes:
- Logos
- Photographs
- Videos
- Descriptions
- Product images
- Marketing materials
TopTelangana may remove content when it receives a legitimate intellectual-property complaint or otherwise becomes aware of an apparent violation.
24. No Guarantee of Customers
A business listing can improve online visibility, but TopTelangana does not guarantee:
- Leads
- Calls
- Website visits
- Customers
- Sales
- Bookings
- Revenue
- Search-engine rankings
Business results depend on numerous factors outside the control of TopTelangana.
25. Relationship With TopTelangana
Creating a listing does not automatically create an agency, partnership, employment, franchise or joint-venture relationship between the business and TopTelangana.
Unless separately agreed in writing, each business remains an independent business.
26. Changes to These Guidelines
TopTelangana may update these guidelines as the directory develops.
